Rain Dogs
Rain Dogs

The Rain Dogs are four talented musicians who have come together to share a love of American roots music. Creating a timeless sound all their own, they pay tribute to the old southern string bands and classic blues masters. Playing songs that have weathered the generations, the Rain Dogs perform music ranging in style from old time jug band blues & boogie woogie up thru the driving rhythms of early rock & roll.
Working within a framework of acoustic & resophonic guitars, washboard, bass, mandolin, piano & harmonica, the band covers material from artists such as Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Mississippi Sheiks, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt & Bo Carter, along with originals. Songs from their CDs are played regularly on radio stations across the country. So if you’re looking for a unique musical experience guaranteed to entertain most any audience, why not call in the Rain Dogs!

Street Railway Company Jazz Band

The Street Railway Company Jazz Band has played as a group since 1985 and includes 7 pieces (cornet, trombone, clarinet, piano, drums, tuba and banjo). We play traditional New Orleans dixieland jazz and have twice traveled to Europe to perform in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Spain, including live radio performances in Prague and Valencia. The band performed at the Clear Lake Iowa Jazz Festival, Joslyn Jazz on the Green, and has played at Trovato's Italian Restaurant in Omaha since 1986.

Gravydippers

The Blues Classic Rock of the Gravydippers, like good gravy, has many ingredients and has simmered thru many years of gigs and musical experiences. Musical influences include Boz Scaggs, Asleep at the Wheel, Santana, the Talking Heads, Paul Simon, The Beatles, James Brown, Van Morrison, Louis Jordan, Jeff Healey, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, the Allman Brothers Band and Sly & the Family Stone.

Waybacks

From newgrass and western swing to jug band and gypsy jazz, from folk and fingerpicking to alt-country and improvisational excursions that defy categorization, Waybacks music is wild, energetic and unpredictable. At full tilt, they take on the force of an acoustic rock band. With their stellar musicianship and innate sense of adventure, they stand in good company with the few bands at the forefront of New American acoustic music. The Waybacks are an eclectic acoustic quintet, who embraces multiple genres.

Eric Steckel Band

Originally from Pennsylvania where he was first known for his energetic guest appearances with many of the area's finest performers, Eric's early musical influences inspired him to pick up his first Fender Stratocaster at the age of nine. There was no looking back... Eric's passion for the Blues enabled him to soon share the stage with many nationally known artists including Bob Margolin, Debbie Davies, James Armstrong, Steve Guyger, Kenny Neal, Chris Beard, Tommy Castro, Joe Kubek, Bnois King, Solomon Burke, Ronnie Baker Brooks and Hubert Sumlin.

With a feeling and natural ability that just can't be explained for someone so young, Eric delivers a Freddie-BB-Albert King influenced performance with an intensity and skill that belies the fact that he is only 16 years old. With a style at times reminiscent the great ones, Eric combines a variety of influences while reminding everyone the real thing comes from the heart and soul.

Son Venezuela

Passion is the word often used to describe this talented group of international musicians from Brazil, Dominican Republic, United States of America and, of course, Venezuela. Lead by vocalists Luis Guillen and Kelfel Aqui, who also plays the cuartro, Son Venezuela started out as a Latin American folk music ensemble, but soon took the leap from the concert hall to the dance floor. Salsa, Merengue, Calypso, Cumbia, Tamborera and Rumbas are just a few of the styles the nine-piece Son Venezuela performs.

Having been honored as Kansas City’s “Premier Latin Groove Ensemble” for five years running by local entertainment publication The Pitch Weekly, Son Venezuela promises to have everyone on their feet, dancing to their exotic rhythms.
