Vlasis

A dazzling live performer: Vlasis is a stage presence combining remarkable showmanship and a precise playing style only gained through years of diligent study and practice.

A well developed raw talent: Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vlasis defies any one definition.  Influenced by the music of Al Di Meola, Joe Santriani, Pink Floyd, the Moody Blues and Santana. At the age of 16, his first band Future Legend won a Twin Cities best of the band contest and his journey began. Proficient in piano, drums, electric and acoustic guitars, Vlasis is also a singer, gifted songwriter and recording artist.

A crowd pleasing performer: His electrifying live performance style is a brew of Blues, classic rock and world music - subtle finger picking to digging ruts in the guitar strumming.

Blue Canoe - Vlasis helped create the legendary Twin Cities band Blue Canoe. After Blue Canoe went on hiatus, Vlasis began performing as a solo artist, wowing audiences with his acoustic sets all over the Twin Cities.

Brule' - Vlasis toured the US with the Award Winning Native American Band Brule' for over five years Performing over 200 shows a year with Brule', Vlasis played acoustic/electric guitars and Native American drums on stage and on three of Brule's recent Albums.

In addition to his solo career, for the last two years Vlasis has colaborated with International Award Winning Violinist Arvel Bird who is the 2007 Native American Music Award Artist of the Year, Former Brulé drummer John Lone Eagle, known to his fans as “Eagle”, and Chris James of Nashville.  The group ONE NATION was the result of this collaboration, a high energy World Beat music project that delievered two amazing albums.

Now by popular demand, Vlasis is back as a solo recording artist performing music that enchants and enthralls his audiences everywhere he performs! Joining Vlasis at the Omaha Arts festival Is Omaha's own Jason Weyerman on djembe and congas along with special guests.
