Volunteers

The Omaha Summer Arts Festival relies on more than 150 volunteers who contribute their time, talent and experience to help make the event a success each year.

If you’re looking for a fun way to get involved and support the arts in downtown Omaha, we are always looking for energetic, dedicated people to act as local ambassadors as they help in a variety of ways, including:

  • Artist Concierge Services:  Includes assisting artists with load-in and load-out, booth sitting, artwork delivery, running errands, providing water, snack and lunch delivery to the artists’ booths and staffing the artists’ lounge.

  • Children’s Fair:  Help provide hands-on crafts, decorate the Children’s fair, staff the information booth, sell activity tickets and volunteer in the Toddler Tent.

  • Young Artist Exhibition:  Held in two locations, volunteers greet guests, hand out programs and monitor artwork.

  • Wine & Cheese Café:  Check ID, wristband, sell and pour wine.  Must be 21 to volunteer in the Wine Cheese Café.

  • World Music Pavilion:  Check ID, wristband, sell and pour a variety of beverages.  Must be 21 to volunteer in the World Music Pavilion.

  • Luigi Waites World Music Stage:  Help backstage as bands load-in and load-out and help maintain performers lounge.

  • Floater:  If you want to do a little bit of everything, this ones for you!

Our volunteers really make it happen and we’d love to have you join our team!  All we ask is a minimum commitment of two (2) three-hour shifts over the three-day weekend (June 25, 26 and 27, 2010) and you’ll receive a free T-shirt, a coupon for a free lunch and a lifetime of memories.

If you’d like more information or if you’re ready to join the Summer Arts Festival Volunteer Team, please contact Festival Coordinator, Michelle Horn at safintern@vgagroup.com or (402) 345-5401.
