My works depict the subtleties of color, texture, light and pattern as well as the many differing land forms present in the Midwest. I am drawn to winding gravel roads, tall grasses, fields that “go on forever”, tree groves, clouds and sky, and how all of these elements fit together as pieces to create a whole within my compositions. I have come to realize that subject matter is abundant in that I am surrounded by “compositional” possibilities. I wait with anticipation for the view at the top of a hill or around the next curve in the road.
