I make fine jewelry from old silverware. I begin with ordinary vintage silver dinner forks. I sculpt & shape each piece into bold fluid shapes adding precious & semi-precious stones.
Each piece is cold formed, applying no heat except to solder. I use the very tools acquired from my mother dating back to 1936. When I was an 8 year old I would watch her make sterling rings and use these same tools that touch almost every piece I create. Because sterling is soft much of my time is spent removing the scars from these tools before the final polish.
