My papercut designs are created through a series of sketches with finished designs must be in continuous piece with positives and negatives spaces in mind. The finished design is then hand cut with knives and special tools on black papers. The finished papercut is then glued with hand made color papers to the back. For the multi-color papercuts, the deigns are cut on white rice papers and then hand colored with liquid watercolor. My latest works are cut paper sculptures. The shapes of the designs are transferred on to different colored papers and assembled on different levels. The depth and shadows combine to create a unique 3-D effect. Where appropriate, the paper is banded and curled to achieve the 3-D effect.
