Wheat weaving is a centuries old craft that has roots in many parts of the world. We use heritage varieties of wheat that are grown in the US specifically for this purpose, cut at the optimal time to ensure the longevity of the weavings. To prepare the wheat, we first clean it, then soak it to make it pliable enough to interweave the stalks without them splitting. Our contemporary designs exhibit traditional influences. and incorporate other natural materials such as manzanita wood, cactus leaves, and feathers. We have been weaving since 1989.
