We are a daughter-mother team that design and create jewelry in our delightfully chaotic studio in Austin, Texas. We both have degrees in mathematics, as well as extensive training in metalsmithing. Our scientific backgrounds, together with their passion for producing art, bring a left-brain/right-brain approach to our unique jewelry design. We use traditional methods of metalsmithing to create our non-traditional jewelry: forging, fusing, soldering, and riveting. We focus on texture and dimensionality which is reflected in our artwork. We also enjoy adding color to metal using the ancient techniques of cloisonni and enamel: vitreous (glass) enamel is melted in a kiln at 1500 degrees, resulting in colors that are vibrant and enticing. We further embellish our work with pearls, gems, and other stones. We create jewelry because that is what we love to do. We hope that when people own and wear our jewelry, their enjoyment of life is increased also.
